Minutes Of the S.A.A.C meeting Held on January 10, 2007 In Attendance: Debbie, Doug, Amara, Karl, Constance, Sara, Jacylyn, Troy, Joe, Chef Mark, Chef Heng, Cory Meeting called to order by Debbie at 7:05pm Seconded by Doug Doug read aloud the code of ethics President’s Report: Bra Horrin is our nominee for Western chef of the year. We will be checking on the new award and then nominating Curtis for it. New members thismonth are Troy and Adam. Welcome, we look forward to your presence from now on. Anyone wanting information on competitions please see Doug for information. Heather Korchinshi and Brent Hasper are applying for Skills Canada. We are looking forward to hearing from Sysco about their recipe competition next meeting. We are continuing to support LCC scholarship with plaques and knife sets. Anyone interestedin inc carving go to website www.icealaska.com. The Compulsary Occupational Designation is still in progress. SAAC to purchase gold and silver medals for the hot salons. Money received from Bridgebrand for the Grand Marnier Dessert Challenge has been deposited and we will use when needed. Grand Marnier Fundraiser is now in full swing. Be looking for ticket sales coming in March. There will be an ice carving demonstration at LCC on Monday February 5, 2007. Any incoming mail, if you would like to read it please see Doug or Debbie. Vice Presidents Report: Nothing to report. Secretaries Report: Advertising on our website: first year is free and then $50.00 per year. Updating information on our members. Treasurer’s Report: Local dues need to be paid soon. Audit has been accepted by the government and we are good for another 3 years now. Rationale demos will be mar 22 and may 24. Education Director’s Report: New diploma program with chef mark doing well, he had 9 students. Old News: Banff retreat to take place Feb 3-5 for the Alberta branches. Amara and Teenie to go with Doug. Western regional conference Feb 23 to 25 in Calgary.
