Minutes Of the S.A.A.C meeting Held on October 4, 2010 In Attendance: Debbie Clauss, Doug Overes, Amanda Unruh, Ryan Baker, James, Kris Keenan, Brian, Joyce, Melissa, Kaylum, Paige, Laura, Daicya, Katie Meeting called to order by Doug at 7:05pm Seconded by Debbie Code of ethics read by Amanda Unruh President’s Report: Debbie Clauss will be taking over the website responsibilites. New members accepted and passed. All in favour. Motion by Doug and 2nd by Deb Clauss. Doug was in PEI judging a shellfish competition.The grand prize was $10,000. Doug suggested that our members should get involved. Competition was a 3 course Black box using Shellfish. International chefs day will be done at the Food bank again this year. We will have sausage, perogies (donated), Sauerkraut (donated), and sour cream. Doug gone to Luxenburg from Nove 18 to 26. No money for a student to accompany them this year. Doug is looking for input as to waht do we want out of Potato Grower seminar. Please have ideas to him by Friday. The seminar will be free to paid members and $20.00 for all other. We are looking for at least 30 people to attend. Christmas rum ball making is Dec 11 at LCC college. Any one interested please contact Daicya. Dec 6 will be deadline for customer orders. Will be making Dark, milk, and white rumballs. Will sell 24 for $10. Daicya will send out order form and ingredient list for us to look at. Alzheimers fundraiser; Doug gave the plastic dished to the college for future use of the college premises. May 27 Doug want to do a Dine Alberta 100 mile dinner in the college dining room. Business casual will be the dress. More discussion to come; but keep thinking about what we can do. Multi branch meeting is on hold until further notice. Is there anyone who wants to sponser a page in Mise en place? Get any info to Doug. Austrian exchange; finalizing details by Friday. Will let us know. There is a possibility for an exchange with Pei and LCC. We do some training there and they do some here. Then maybe move on to an applie degree for one more year. More news to come.... March 2 is an ale tasting at Andrew Hiltons. We decided to go with Dougs choice, but maybe some choclate lighter tastings. Reminder that Feb 7 is our yearly Dinner meeting. Chili Fundraiser; to be doubled with the street wheelers??? More to come... Looking at doing some fundraising at the Dragon boat festival. More to come... Casino fundraiser is a dead issue. The government does not see us as a viable non profit society. Any collection of bottle money...can be taken down by member and then given to us at a meeting. Junior’s Report: Reported about the Letter From Junior National Representative about Travel to Tuscany; Farm to Fork. Vice Presidents Report: Not present Secretaries Report: Not present Treasurer’s Report: Financials for the year 2009-2010 have been completed and will be mailed this week. Website changes have all been made. 1/2 way thru redoing our bylaws to make them more like the Nationals.
